2010 Indoor Season

 

 

 

 

 

Indoor Field Hockey is a fast, fun-filled, and skill building game that is one of the fastest growing sports in the US.  Indoor is played on a smooth-surfaced court about one and a half times the size of a basketball court. 

 

Nomads offers indoor as a winter sport because we believe that playing indoor develops:

 

· individual ‘on-the-ball’ skills

· ‘off-the-ball’ skills

· ‘small game’ vision

· ‘whole-game’ strategy

 

Nomads promotes:

 

· competitive indoor field hockey at the national level

· an opportunity for all levels of players

· development of younger players starting at U12

· local and national tournament participation

· individualized goalie coaching

· excellent coaching by college coaches, college players and high school coaches

· the promotion of good sportsmanship

 

 

VARIOUS TEAMS FOR THE SEASON.

 

Nomads will be offering two levels of play for this winter. For those players who wish to compete at a highly competitive level and start the route to possible college playing, the National Travel Team U19 and U16 offers quality coaching, and excellent competition.  Players who LOVE field hockey and wish to develop their skills, and continue to play during the winter are catered for in our Local Travel Teams U19, U16  U14 and U12.   Our U12 team aim this year is to develop our youth group—so all players not yet 12 are invited to join our Youth Squad—U12 and U10.

 

Boys are welcome to join at any age at the Local  Level.

LTT—regular field hockey stick

NTT—indoor field hockey stick

All players will be issued a Nomads Pinnie (to be returned after the last practice)
